Located in Badong Town, Jimo, Qingdao, this project introduces China’s first luxury spa brand dedicated to “Salt Spring Therapy,” drawing on the area’s rare sodium chloride hot spring. The spring water contains high concentrations of sodium ions (138.4 mg/L) and chloride ions (3,062.5 mg/L). It is safe for both bathing and drinking. Traditionally valued for its efficacy in treating skin conditions, chronic gastroenteritis, neurological fatigue, gynecological disorders, and more, it forms the foundation of a wellness experience that blends ancient tradition with contemporary lifestyle needs. Guided by the innate healing power of salt and spring water, the project is conceived as an integrated sanctuary for holistic recovery, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

The design philosophy centers on three interconnected dimensions—Skin, Skeleton, Soul—ensuring a journey of healing that moves from the surface to the inner self. Inspired by nature’s restorative force, the elemental essence of life, and a forward-looking brand vision, the space is thoughtfully organized into four therapeutic zones. Guests begin in the Soak & Heat Immersion Zone, where they can move between salt spring pools of varying temperatures to stimulate circulation and release tension. In the serene Float & Mist Sanctuary, private flotation pods and salt-infused steam rooms create a meditative environment. The Aromatic Salt & Scent Pavilion engages the senses through walls crafted from natural salt bricks and bespoke aromatherapy, forming a calming olfactory sanctuary. For those seeking gentle movement, the Hydro-Motion Fitness Area combines light exercise equipment with a fine mist spray system, enabling low-impact workouts within a mineral-rich atmosphere.

Natural materials such as salt bricks and reclaimed wood not only reinforce the thematic narrative but also help regulate ambient humidity. Floors are finished in slip-resistant micro-cement that mimics the crystalline texture of salt, harmonizing aesthetic appeal with safety.

For sustainability, a recycling system repurposes graywater and treated spring water for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing, significantly reducing freshwater consumption. Primary heating is provided by air-source heat pumps, while solar panels supply electricity to select areas. An intelligent AC system further optimizes energy efficiency by dynamically adjusting to occupancy levels and zone-specific thermal demands, ensuring comfort without waste.
