Wabi-sabi, once perceived as an unadorned and restrained form of appreciation, has nowadays evolved into a lifestyle, a relaxed attitude embracing transience, nature, and imperfection of things as is.
Drawing from such concept, the design calls upon clean yet delicate lines, curated furniture and placements in resonance with tranquil riverine scenery. By mitigating color and textural impact, it embodies a quiet, elegant creativity that well fulfills the inhabitants’ desired functionality and cozy ambiance.
For this 132-square-meter residence, boasting serene surroundings and outlook to lush riverbank, the team starts by reconfiguring the layout to include 2 bedrooms, 1 multi-purpose space, and open kitchen-living areas. Incorporation of curved elements and clean lines effectively guides sightlines and indoor flow, adding a sense of calmness, sophistication, and delicacy to the space.
Safety and well-being of the inhabitants also remains core of the considerations, with an emphasis on sustainability through extensive use of LED lighting, low-formaldehyde panels, natural stone slabs and eco-friendly paints. By seamlessly integrating aesthetics and functionality, the design enriches everyday life with emotional depth and imagination.
