A family of four, consisting of two parents and two children, will be living in this four-room flat. They desired a practical, easy-to-clean home that incorporates a warm milk tea color palette, minimizes open cabinets, and utilizes energy recovery ventilation to reduce dust. The design team overcame challenges such as the original layout being unsuitable for a foyer and lacking storage space, as well as a small public area, to create a design that meets the homeowner's needs. They improved the original layout by shrinking some rooms’ space. In the limited space, the design team created an independent entrance area, shoe cabinets that can hold ample shoes, and a cubby to address the homeowner's main concerns. The entrance is one of the focal points in the design, as the team incorporated extensive storage features, including shoe cabinets with a stool, a cabinet with a midway hollow for the homeowners to place their belongings, and a rotating shoe cabinet. Additionally, the team selected slip-resistant and dirt-resistant tiles to pave the floor in the entrance. The screen in the entrance was made of stainless steel with environmentally friendly titanium plating, which is also safe for humans. The designer chose a hidden door for the cubby. When closed, the door blends seamlessly with the surroundings, but once opened, it reveals a spacious interior, perfect for accommodating the many items purchased by the homeowner. The living room features a TV cabinet that hides electronic devices and provides extra storage space. Moreover, the cabinet behind the sofa avoids the beam above and adds more storage and a platform for laptops, phones, and cups. The master bedroom's hidden wall design addresses the unattractive bathroom door beside the bed, and the wardrobe extends to the ceiling to increase storage. One section is open for hanging coats, and a hidden cabinet by the window stores vacuum cleaners and small items. The children's room has curved cabinet doors for a lively touch and additional storage under the bed. The hallway features two moon lamps for nighttime lighting, creating an outdoor moon-gazing atmosphere indoors.
