BFC Christmas Season Art Display

This case is a decoration design project for the 2023 Christmas at Shanghai BFC (Bund Financial Center).

We select design elements in the authorized works of artist Kristjana S Williams to create a Christmas atmosphere for our clients while presenting a more artistic and trendy atmosphere.

Among the many contents of the artist's graphic works, we have chosen the images of natural plants and animals, and then recombined and distributed them to form a more suitable three-dimensional installation for architecture and environment.

The main display points emphasize the atmosphere of Christmas, so the design of the installation body is more like an artistically treated Christmas tree; In the neighborhood, the "light corridor" composed of lighting atmosphere is like a passage guiding people forward; At the main entrance of the shopping mall, we have created a "painting" up to 15m high, and people walking into the mall feel like they are walking into a painting from here.

The planar elements in an artist's work are very rich and complex, to the extent that how to make choices during the process, and how to make three-dimensional processing and presentation of these elements after confirmation of selection, has become the biggest challenge. Of course, our designer ultimately completed this task through meticulous work and patience.

In terms of decoration, there was not much innovation adopted this time, and this work itself focuses more on the secondary creation of the artist's work. Innovation mainly comes from the deconstruction and expression of artist works.

In our view, sustainable development is not necessarily the repeated use of materials or specific items. The secondary creation of some classic art works also comes from the "sustainable creation" of artists or designers.
