fdpf - The Female Documentary Photography Foundation was founded in 2023 with a dedication to supporting female photographers. The foundation aims to showcase the courage, fearlessness, and boundless creativity of contemporary women through its brand image, inspiring resonance and identification among a vast female audience.
In terms of color, a bold contrast of red, black, and white is overall selected, which instantly evokes the resolute spirit of femininity. Red, stemming from the sword orchid, embodies both passion and bravery, as well as self-expression; classic black and white balance the fervor of red, endowing women with limitless potential and purity of essence.
On the visual language level, both the graphics and layout revolve around the context of photography. The letters "fd" in the logo are transformed into "pf" by using the principle of pinhole imaging in photography, creating a clever fusion of name and field through this sharp insight. The accordion-style materials, with their flexibility, recreate the operational feel of an accordion camera, enhancing the visual appeal.
The overall design employs methods that diminish feminine elements, presenting a neutral expression as the design logic. From another perspective, it reflects the brilliant radiance of outstanding women who never exploit gender advantages, allowing people to experience the steady and serene inner world of women.
The Certificate of Appreciation is designed with bilingual text arranged vertically and placed opposite each other in both Chinese and English, offering options for vertical and horizontal display. When placed vertically, the preferred language can be chosen. When placed horizontally, an inspiration drawn from the practical use of a 300mm Fresnel spotlight lens in photography is incorporated, aiming for the recipient to focus their attention through it on their genuine passions in life.
