In the post-epidemic era, we think about how to promote arts and cultural consumption behavior, while allowing Taiwan's unique ceramic industry to develop sustainably, starting from basic education, industrial economy, and aesthetic life, to create a city where you can both work well and enjoy beauty. Therefore, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Sustainable Cities and Communities among the SDGs are taken as the core values of the plan. The overall plan draws on the life and situation emphasized by The Experience Economy, Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten's concept of sensibility as the root of aesthetics, and the life aesthetics of the Four Arts in China's Song Dynasty.
We help Taiwan's ceramic industry find the unique aesthetic feeling and core value of its products, including the four aesthetics of "ceramic sensibility": 1. Aesthetic ritual: traditional ceramic art with oriental characteristics and exquisite skills, 2. Poetic romance: presentation Contemporary ceramic art with diverse imaginations of clay materials, 3. Natural simplicity: ceramics with simple tones and simple shapes that can be used anywhere in life, 4. Healing and story imagination: lovely ceramics that are widely welcomed in the market.
We take the above four aesthetics as the main content of the exhibition and add educational content on ceramic skills. In terms of display strategy, we create four exhibition areas with different atmospheres to change the audience’s perspective on appreciating the works:
1. Traditional pottery area: integrating Eastern traditional tea ceremony, flower arrangement, incense ceremony and painting.
2. A people-friendly and lively cultural and creative market: inviting industries to jointly create scenes of current life.
3. Contemporary art installation: Emphasize the subjectivity of the work and reduce environmental interference by subtraction.
4. Wood-fired education area: We recreated the wood-fired kiln at Xinfeng Elementary School in Taoyuan, retaining the traditional ceramic firing technology, and introduced relevant knowledge of the wood-fired kiln through multimedia interaction.
The calm oriental aesthetics created at the exhibition venue relieve the tension after the epidemic. At the same time, it also helps Taiwanese ceramics take root and develop in the cultural and creative industries, education and life aesthetics.
