ATEQ, a company specializing in leak test systems, embraced innovation in its office design. The architect envisioned a neo-industrial space, balancing heavy industrial elements with intricate detailing, notably seen in the careful proportioning of corrugated iron. The structure, formed by combining three residential units, strategically fosters communication among employees from various departments. Recognizing the potential tension in the work environment, the interior design prioritizes a lively and relaxed ambiance.
The design focuses on the interiors, maintaining a simple exterior to blend with the residential community. The French owner's influence is evident in the bold color scheme, notably vibrant red barn doors linking modern industrial style with rustic French charm. The 30-year-old building, a fusion of three houses, features only a metal front façade to maintain a low-profile appearance and reduce costs. The front porch, with an exposed concrete finish, offers a casual area for employee interactions.
The work environment emphasizes relaxation, with versatile spaces accommodating different needs. Separate entrances cater to employees and guests, enhancing movement within sections, while a yellow corridor adds vibrancy and a celebrity-esque feel. The creative floor tiling and semi-transparent glass handrails contribute to a visually dynamic space. Red barn doors, serving as partitions, create independent meeting spaces, eliminating the need for dedicated rooms and fostering a "playful space."
LED light strips, spatially emphasizing divisions, add sophistication. The intricate color scheme, balancing red and yellow with neutral tones, resonates with the industrial theme. This design approach harmoniously combines functionality, aesthetics, and a nod to the owner's roots.
