Beixi Have Fun is an innovative and collaborative project that brings together schools, community businesses, and artists to promote the development of Beixi Village. The project's primary objective is to establish a vibrant and colorful paper-cutting art village that showcases the unique cultural heritage of the region. The village will serve as a starting point for the project, and the focus will then shift towards public art, particularly iron sculpture and painting.

The project aims to transform traditional Chinese paper-cutting art into paintwork and openwork iron sculpture design, creating a distinctive community feature that celebrates the rich cultural history of the region. The art installations will be displayed in public spaces, adding an element of beauty to the environment and promoting community engagement.

In addition, the project will also revitalize the local tourism and arts and culture industries by combining the community's agricultural products with excursion programs. This will create opportunities for tourists to learn about the local culture and heritage while enjoying the scenic beauty of the region. These efforts will inject vitality into the aging community and help realize the vision of regional revitalization.

In an effort to revive the Hokkien-style buildings that have been standing for over a century, a team of dedicated individuals has taken upon themselves to restore and transform them. They have carefully preserved the buildings, painted their mottled walls with a fresh coat of white paint, and adorned them with red paper cutouts and intricate iron sculptures to create a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.

In Taiwan, it is customary to decorate walls, doors, windows, or mirrors with paper cutouts during weddings and funerals. Therefore, the team decided to incorporate this tradition into their art design as a way to express good fortune and longevity. Along with the paper cutouts, the iron sculptures and color paintings were created to convey themes such as folk fables, the twelve signs of the zodiac, and festivals, all of which are deeply rooted in traditional Chinese culture.
