The core essence of this project lies in creating a unique yet contextually harmonious space within the constraints of interconnected traditional townhouses. Inspired by the Scandinavian ethos, where limited daylight is a catalyst for creative design solutions, the project emphasizes the use of natural light to evoke a sense of tranquility and well-being. The design reimagines the space as a sanctuary that invites guests to disconnect from the urban hustle and reconnect with nature, celebrating the interplay of light and shadow to breathe new life into the space. The building's exterior balconies are crafted using precision-engineered steel components, breaking away from traditional construction methods and requiring meticulous attention to scale and material choice. The scenic viewing platform is constructed using a mezzanine structural technique, supported by reinforced concrete (RC) structural walls. The visual impact is extended with slanted windows that gradually increase in height, offering travelers expansive views of the surrounding landscape. The staircase design cleverly replaces traditional handrails with custom-processed steel pipes as balustrades, meticulously executed to optimize the perceived spatial width. The exterior walls of the space are clad in stainless steel-coated great wall boards, offering a sleek and modern aesthetic while providing durability. For the interior walls, eco-certified faux wood lattice panels are used, paired with mirror elements. This design not only conceals electrical panels but also creates an illusion of spaciousness, enhancing the overall visual experience. On the ground floor, the structural columns are seamlessly integrated into a 5-meter-long central kitchen island counter made of engineered stone. The addition of mirror elements helps to reduce the visual oppression of the columns, creating a harmonious visual symmetry within the space. The counter, crafted from industrial walnut finish, accommodates a variety of entertainment needs and activities, adding a versatile and modern touch to the environment. Each room is equipped with DHD metal sliding doors which are designed to withstand moisture and prevent warping whilst presenting a minimalist, refined aesthetic.
