Many of the 101 million worldwide refugees are housed in canvas tents where Winters and Summers are harsh, security is non-existent, and the risk of contracting disease is significant. The Humanihut Field Infrastructure System (HFIS) was designed as a solution to this humanitarian crisis through the delivery of an entire temporary infrastructure system which incorporates accommodation, clean drinking water, sewerage management and power generation.

The climate controlled HFIS is eight times more logistically efficient than other temporary buildings and delivers measurable improvement over tents. Scalable, foldable, rigid, and capable of multiple deployments over its 20+ year lifespan, a short-term, high density HFIS village housing up to 4096 people can be established in approximately 4 days.

With all components, accessories and necessary utilities integrated for rapid deployment and ease of establishment, the HFIS can connect to local mains water, power, and waste-water infrastructure or run independently if services are not available, creating a temporary, liveable community.

The HFIS is easily re-deployed as many times as necessary. Each deployment aims to have minimal environmental impact, with all essential services designed for above ground installation. At the end of life, Humanihut infrastructure can be recycled or re-purposed for a range of other uses and opportunities.

The Humanihut Field Infrastructure System was founded on a vision of providing a better alternative for people requiring temporary accommodation and to improve the quality of life for displaced persons.
