LU MING JIN YUAN

This project is situated in the core area of Kunshan city, surrounded by residential communities and ecological parks, offering exceptional living qualities. Once completed, it will serve as the "urban living room" for the main urban area of Kunshan. The design is inspired by the flowing nature of Kunqu Opera and the picturesque water towns of the south Yangtze River, drawing on the charm of the water sleeves to create a pedestrian axis within the urban landscape. The sky corridor runs diagonally across the site, resembling a dancing sleeve that embraces views of the water town while showcasing urban scenery. Centrally located, the urban living room features a 400-metre ring corridor above, linking leisurely pathways, community amenities, and commercial office spaces. Below, four street corner parks are integrated, with landscape levels gradually rising from the centre outwards. The ring corridor connects to these parks via stairs, with access points strategically placed near residential areas for convenience, maximising the use and sharing of green spaces. The commercial buildings are set back in layers, creating an "urban sofa" for visitors to stop and rest, harmonising with the concept of the "urban living room." Several sky courtyards within the office and apartment buildings form a series of viewing platforms at varying heights, enhancing the three-dimensional urban aesthetic. The open block design significantly improves both living quality and enjoyment. The façade features a rhythmic interplay of concave and convex patterns, with staggered heights, resulting in a simple yet varied architectural form. Attention is paid to detail and overall harmony, using clean lines and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows to create an elegant atmosphere. The landscape design adopts a multi-dimensional, eco-friendly approach that grows in harmony with nature.
