This project centers around the meticulous design of a private residence that seamlessly integrates a Buddhist temple, responding to the unique vision of the homeowner. The designer has masterfully positioned the temple as the focal point of the living space, creating an atmosphere that exudes elegance while embracing a modern Zen aesthetic.

The overarching design philosophy revolves around the principle of “subtraction,” which seeks to eliminate the clutter of extravagant furnishings and ornate decorations. Instead, the space is defined by clean, simple lines, natural materials, and a palette of warm colors that foster a sense of tranquility. The generous expanse of white space within the home not only cultivates a visually expansive environment but also invites a sense of mindfulness. This thoughtful design element allows for moments of reflection, enabling thoughts to settle and emotions to find peace, thereby crafting a serene sanctuary for its inhabitants.

The interior design masterfully embodies a Zen-inspired aesthetic, characterized by elegant wooden grilles and an abundance of natural, steel-brushed sycamore wood paired with rustic stone veneer. This harmonious palette not only reflects the fundamental principles of Eastern Zen simplicity and a return to nature but also celebrates the richness found in Taiwan's local natural resources. In the living room, a substantial beam gracefully spans above the sofa. To soften its stark presence, the designer has incorporated rounded corners, artfully diminishing any sense of oppression. The stunning white marble TV wall features meticulously sculpted beveled and chamfered edges, evoking a captivating play of light and shadow through its clean, minimalist lines.

Behind the sofa, a striking titanium-plated metal display cabinet serves dual purposes: providing functional storage and enhancing the room's aesthetic with its refined elegance. Flanking this exquisite piece is the Buddha Hall, elegantly designed in a zigzag formation that encourages a smooth flow of daily life for the residents. The kitchen, thoughtfully separated from the living room by a sliding glass door, ensures optimal ventilation while effectively containing grease and smoke.
