The Mazu belief in Taiwan has evolved from a sea goddess protecting fishermen to an all-encompassing guardian deity after Han Chinese immigrants settled during the Qing Dynasty. Each community has a unique emotional bond with Mazu, leading to diverse religious activities. This cultural faith has inspired the creation of distinctive religious artifacts, offering insights into a region's historical development. The exhibition showcases artifacts from seven Yunlin Mazu temples, some over 300 years old, categorized by the origins of Mazu belief, the connection between people and Mazu, and the Mazu faith in Yunlin. It aims to explore how traditional beliefs influence regional development and shape cultural traditions.
