3D Character Animation Project for PX Mart by FREES
FREES partnered with PX Mart to transform its brand characters from 2D to 3D, enhancing their personality and recognizability. The project covers character modeling, rigging, texturing, animation, scene design, and audio post-production, all executed by FREES.
The Project Consists of Three Main Series:
1. Brand Character Series: Free Bear & The Fruit Adventure Team
This series focuses on the interactions between PX Mart’s mascot, Free Bear, and six adventure companions inspired by different fruits: Bingo, Jungle, Balego, Wanglaigo, Kiwiko, and Mango. Through expressive 3D animation, detailed body language, and immersive visual storytelling, each character’s unique charm is brought to life, further enriching the brand’s world-building and deepening its identity.
2. New Year’s Eve Series: 2025 Taipei Countdown Surprise!
Free Bear and his companions, fruit adventure team, made a surprise appearance at the 2025 Taipei New Year’s Eve event, bringing a series of PX Mart’s most iconic commercial jingles, including the fan-favorite phrase: "Cashier assistance, please!" The nostalgic and humorous integration sparked a viral reaction online, driving extensive brand exposure and engagement.
3. Valentine’s Day Series:Emotional Storytelling to Deepen Fan Engagement
This series explores themes of secret crushes and romantic tension, telling the story of Mango’s unspoken feelings for Free Bear. Through detailed body language, eye contact, and subtle interactive moments, the animation creates a heartwarming yet humorous atmosphere.
Despite not being tied to an official campaign, this series generated high fan engagement, with audiences enthusiastically expanding the storyline in the comments, successfully increasing community interaction and brand loyalty.
Extended Application: Naked-eye 3D & In-Store Announcements
A naked-eye 3D version brings Free Bear to PX Mart stores, dynamically announcing the time throughout the day, enhancing the shopping experience.
This project has not only breathed new life into PX Mart’s brand characters but has also leveraged cutting-edge 3D animation technology to create deeper audience engagement. By transforming brand mascots into beloved digital IPs, the project has successfully resonated with fans, elevating PX Mart’s brand presence in a fun and immersive way.
