LOVE OUT LOUD: Turning Human Emotions into Music through AI

LOVE OUT LOUD is a music project that redefines how artificial intelligence can express human emotion.
 By challenging the stereotype of AI as cold and mechanical, it demonstrates the potential of AI as a companion in emotional storytelling.



The process begins when users submit heartfelt messages—expressing emotions such as love, gratitude, apology, or celebration—through AI-generated message cards designed to visually reflect their sentiment.
Once submitted, the message is analyzed using natural language understanding (NLU) to extract emotional cues, which are then mapped to musical elements including tempo, key, rhythm, and instrumentation.
For example, a sorrowful message may result in a slow, minor-key composition, while joyful expressions are reflected through upbeat rhythms and major harmonies.
The AI also generates lyrics that reflect the tone of the message and composes a melody that aligns with its emotional structure.



The resulting music goes beyond a digital file. It is brought to life in the real world through playlists at partner cafés and live performances at mini-concerts—transforming private sentiments into shared, emotional experiences.

To date, approximately 3,400 messages have been collected, resulting in the creation of five original songs, which were performed in front of an audience of 100.
 One participant reflected: “Now my message can reach my mother through a song. She’s living with Alzheimer’s, but this music makes my heart heard. I love you, Mom.”

LOVE OUT LOUD enables emotional expression through music—even for individuals who may find it difficult to articulate their feelings.



As the project expands, new emotional themes and collaborations with partner cafés will continue to turn written messages into personalized music.
This initiative is not simply a technological experiment—it is a demonstration of how AI, when paired with empathy, can bridge emotional distance and resonate with the human heart. The experience will also extend beyond cafés, bringing emotion to life in places like theme parks, department stores, and airports.

Because every emotion deserves to be heard.
