2025 TAITUNG Seashore Park

On Taiwan’s eastern coast, the Pacific Ocean greets each day with the first light of dawn, casting a pristine glow over Taitung. Yet, due to its geographical position, this land rarely witnesses the brilliance of a sunset. The golden hues of dusk are often obscured by the Central Mountain Range, as if twilight has never truly descended upon this coastline.



It is from this absence that our inspiration arose. Centering the design around the motif of the “sunset,” we sought to construct a fictional yet heartfelt vision of dusk—an imagined glow rendered in light and shadow. Through color, rhythm, and spatial transformation, we offer a poetic tribute to the sunset that Taitung has never seen. The golden luminance within the piece becomes both a gesture of artistic compensation and a creative offering to this land—crafting a twilight that nature has withheld.



Titled Stellar Light, the installation builds upon the framework of an existing international landmark, revitalized through regenerative design and light art. At its heart lies a 12-meter-diameter circular light sphere, composed of tens of thousands of LEDs. Paired with interactive ribbon-like bridge structures on either side, the installation transforms the coastal park into a dreamscape—as if a galaxy had descended upon Earth. Between the transitions of day and night, a silent dialogue unfolds between nature and technology, flowing gently in the language of light.



On the opening night, a drone light show enhances the experience—hundreds of luminous points dance across the sky, turning the heavens and earth into a shared canvas. These lights shimmer like poetry in motion, evoking a sense of connection between the cosmos and life on Earth.



This celebration of nature, art, and technology invites every traveler who arrives here to find their own star within the flowing constellation. In that fleeting moment of starlit wonder, may the soul reconnect with the universe—and may the imagined sunset, long hidden beyond the mountains, finally bathe this eastern shore in its gentle glow.
