Hsinchu Grassland Story Reading Festival

The 1st Hsinchu Grassland Story Reading Festival, themed "Reading Express," was held to promote the parent-child reading habit. The storybooks and art books published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu City were also introduced to the public at this event. This festival featured seven major areas, including stage performances, storytelling houses, reading salons, children's DIY activities, picnic reading events, street performances, and a grassland market.



These areas were transformed into creative stations, allowing children to explore and enjoy the fun of reading with their friends and family. At the grassland market, local independent bookstores and reading groups from Hsinchu were invited, along with snacks and cultural and creative handmade items. A picnic equipment rental station was also set up, enabling families to create their own picnic setups and enjoy quality reading time together.



There were six knowledge exchange cabinets offering over a thousand children's books for free lending, creating a relaxed atmosphere where people could read anytime and anywhere. Over 16,000 parents and children participated in the festival's activities over the course of two days.
