Inspired by the silent rhythm of cities and the futuristic potential of perovskite solar energy, the PEROVIA bench reimagines public seating as a spatial and symbolic interface. Designed by TAIWA—a contemporary design laboratory at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and spatial aesthetics—PEROVIA channels urban flow into a luminous, minimal object.
Crafted from precision-formed stainless steel using high-accuracy laser cutting, CNC bending, and precision welding, the bench’s open-frame geometry and matte electro-polished finish reflect a new language of infrastructure: one that is lightweight, luminous, and layered with intention. A central void cuts through the frame, evoking the convergence of energy, motion, and rest—echoing the invisible networks that animate contemporary cities.
The design draws visual inspiration from the molecular structure and aesthetic of perovskite solar cells, translating that futuristic clarity into a shared public object. The illuminated underside extends its presence into the surrounding space, making the bench not only a place to sit, but also a subtle emitter of ambient light—suggesting energy in transit.
Deployable in environments such as airports, university campuses, urban parks, tech museums, and cultural centers, PEROVIA adapts to both natural and architectural settings. It becomes a vessel of rhythm and urban identity—bridging movement and stillness, technology and emotion.
At its core, PEROVIA is a meditation on how form can embody flow. Through refined geometry and precision engineering, it becomes a luminous landmark in the shared cityscape, inviting people to pause, reflect, and move with intention.
