Located in Guishan, Taoyuan, this residence is the first home of a newlywed couple. With differing preferences—one partner a passionate collector of anime figures needing ample storage and display space, and the other a nail artist who prefers soft, creamy tones—the designer named the project “Cornerlight,” symbolizing how light comfortably reaches every corner. Despite the limitation of single-sided natural lighting, the design balances light and color to reflect both personalities: one side in powder pink, the other in muted gray, creating a warm, elegant, and tranquil space that marks the beginning of a new chapter in life.

The project’s most critical design challenge centered on the transition between the TV wall and the main bedroom wardrobe. Due to the original layout’s lack of storage and wall continuity in the living area, the designer boldly reoriented the door openings and rebuilt the partition using custom carpentry. This allowed the TV wall to borrow depth from the bedroom’s wardrobe, resulting in a “positive-negative polarity” configuration. This approach kept the living room cabinetry light, while ensuring a fully functional wardrobe on the bedroom side.
