Located in Shanghai’s Xuhui West Coast, this project redefines the showroom typology as a transparent, immersive, and emotionally rich environment. Positioned at the intersection of the cultural artery and the fast-paced rhythm of the city, the four-story glass structure uses ultra-clear tempered glass and vertical aluminum grids to form a permeable light-screen façade. This approach dissolves the traditional enclosure of exhibition halls and invites natural light to flow in, turning the building itself into a luminous urban installation that connects inside and out. Inspired by the "Pujiang Migration," the design translates the gentle curves of river currents into vertical spatial narratives, from the “Tidal Living Room” on the ground floor to the “Cloud Sleeping Room” at the top, creating sixteen progressive home-themed ecological vignettes. Warm natural materials—such as cave stones with breathable textures, FSC-certified oak, and handcrafted elements—interact with sunlight and shadow to bring out the beauty of furniture through minimal intervention and soft visual language. The design dissolves the boundary between art and life, integrating curated furniture, contemporary artworks, greenery, and cultural symbolism into an open, circular circulation path that mimics the changing scenery of a traditional Chinese garden. Visitors are guided through a sequence of spaces including the central “Furniture Art Island,” a sculpture gallery, and an interactive corner, forming a flowing experiential rhythm of “exploration, immersion, and resonance.” Traditional motifs are abstracted into modern forms, such as window patterns and moon reflections, while color tones in neutral greys and beiges are accented with Klein blue and amber orange to provide visual warmth and emotional tension. Emphasizing “life is art,” the space becomes a dialogue between function and aesthetics, East and West, tradition and innovation. More than just a furniture display, the exhibition hall serves as a slow-living cultural field—an oasis in the fast-paced urban jungle—allowing people to reconnect with the senses, with nature, and with the poetics of everyday life.
