About The Entry

I explored religion's calming effects on the soul in this project. As someone from China unfamiliar with Christianity, seeing a Christian coffin at the V& 'A Museum in London deeply moved me. This emotion, transcending logic, begs exploration. In rapidly developing East Asia, life pressures bring anxiety, akin to death's unease.

Christianity's perspective on death, likening it to peaceful slumber with eternal companionship with Jesus, brought solace. I feel people's pursuit of tranquility, which makes me believe that I can replace my anxiety with emotions of this faith Let us relax and embrace tranquility. The power of faith will be our always comfortable and warm bed and shelter. So I chose a soft mattress material in this project to dissolve the image of death represented by the coffin. Starting from this, I conducted many experiments on the relationship between comfortable sleeping bedding and the body, religious prayer postures, and painting, quilting, and printing experiments based on the symbols of the Christian concept of life and death The use of down material provides a soft wrapping and spiritual healing for the body, making the wearer feel comfortable and relaxed.
