Chris Dépôt, a 169m² private house in Shenzhen, China, was fully executed by emerging design firm Sanpu Design. Using French Mid-Century Aesthetics as its medium, the project’s core intent is to construct a temporal dialogue across past, present, and future while revitalizing vintage design with contemporary relevance.

The central design concept is the contemporary deconstruction of vintage elements, avoiding stylistic clichés. Designers discarded classical ornate carvings, distilling French motifs through essential refinement and reduction. The key innovation lies in adopting Hector Guimard’s Art Nouveau "curvilinear language" to restructure space. Soft, continuous arcs (semi-circular stone floor inlays, curved ceilings) flow throughout. Walls and ceilings feature extensively hand-troweled French plasterwith deliberate ripple textures, juxtaposed against polished marble to simulate "nature-eroded" traces—translating Guimard’s organic forms into three-dimensional space.

The outcome transcends mere historical replication. Through material contrasts, craftsmanship fusion, and landscape interface innovation, the project reinterprets time from a futuristic perspective, resulting in a "habitable chronicle of time".
