About The Entry

NUNOUS is a completely new upcycled material derived from cloth. By making possible an upcycling method that does not damage the color or texture of the cloth, NUNOUS is a product that “makes beautifully visible” the "large amount of invisible waste. Plant-derived resin is inserted between hundreds of pieces of cut waste cloth, pressed, and re-sliced. The exhibition is a straightforward representation of its origins.

Just like carving veneer from a log, I wanted to express the lightness of something sliced from a pile of piled up pieces in a simple way.

I wanted people who saw this exhibit to immediately recognize NUNOUS and understand how it came about.
