The Miniso Friends design identity places an immersive IP-centric experience at its core, creating a themed environment that extends across more than one thousand square meters. Guided by the concept of design as assembly, the project reinterprets how large retail spaces can express innovation. A systematic modular approach brings together IP visuals, immersive circulation and commercial display logic, giving the space a distinctive character and sustained appeal while enhancing engagement and shareability in the physical environment.
To address the common issues of material waste and high energy consumption in large store construction, the team prefabricated more than ninety percent of all components in a factory setting, including themed walls, shelving and installation pieces. On-site work is reduced to simple dry assembly with no cutting and no wet processes. This method shortens the construction period by nearly half and significantly reduces debris, dust and noise, offering a greener and less disruptive approach for commercial venues.
The defining uniqueness of the space lies in its reversibility. All components are designed to be detachable, reconfigurable and upgradable, giving the environment the ability to migrate, evolve and adapt over time. From thematic updates to cross-site reuse, Miniso Friends shifts retail interiors from disposable fit-outs to long-term recyclable assets. This systematic design methodology provides a forward-looking reference for brands exploring the future of immersive retail.
