Luohe Hongcheng · Jiu Pu

Rooted in the poetic legacy of the Shali River, this project reimagines the ancient water-town charm and cultural rhythm of Luohe, where boats once drifted through peach-blossom landscapes and life unfolded in harmony with nature. Inspired by the region’s history—where the ancestors of Jiahu lived by fishing, farming, and music—the design draws upon the concept of “half the city is scenery, half the city is water,” transforming the riverside spirit into a contemporary living sanctuary. It blends cultural depth, artistic expression, and natural healing into an immersive residential experience, shaping a modern peach-blossom haven by the water.

Guided by the narrative of “awakening the river, where ten thousand forms arise,” the landscape creates a journey through flowing water, layered greenery, and poetic spatial sequences. Visitors move through scenes that evoke drifting boats, moonlit waves, maple reflections, and floating islands. Inspired by traditional symbolism—rising steps for honor, magnolia blossoms for prosperity, fish leaping over the dragon gate for success—the design translates auspicious meaning into refined physical space. Water terraces, cascading falls, emerald stone, and layered visual corridors unfold like a living landscape painting, while natural-light strategies, open ventilation paths, and layered terraces resolve site constraints and bring clarity, breathability, and softness to the terrain.

The development balances ceremonial grandeur with everyday comfort, offering spaces for tea, culture, movement, and quiet reflection. A boundary-less elevated clubhouse integrates social vitality, fitness, reading, and artistic living, extending the warmth of home into a refined communal setting. Rain gardens, ecological mats, and nature-education spaces demonstrate respect for the land, while thoughtful material selection, durable stone, and plant spacing support sustainable growth and enduring quality.

By merging water culture, modern aesthetics, and ecological consciousness, the project celebrates an elegant life by the river—where people stroll through gardens like paintings, encounter culture in daily ritual, and return to the poetic ease of living in nature.
