The residence is carefully opened to light within a long and narrow layout illuminated only from the front and rear. In the living room, tall louvered windows allow daylight to stream in gently, while at the entryway, reeded glass screens and sliding doors on either side discreetly preserve privacy. A semi-clear glass wall in the study further diffuses sunlight, allowing it to gradually filter into the dining area—once shadowed by the absence of windows— softly lit every corner of the shared spaces.
As light shifts throughout the day, its outlines gracefully trace across the pale finishes and earthy furnishings, subtly reshaping the interior's mood. In this luminous ebb and flow, the family discovers a sanctuary where the mind and body may quietly settle, savoring a sense of ease and calm that extends beyond the everyday.
The original master bedroom was overly expansive, constricting circulation and blocking natural light. The designers strategically removed all interior partitions to resolve this problem and established a clear central axis to anchor the home. Around this axis, they gently arranged the private quarters near the kitchen and dining area, while a broad, unobstructed path was preserved through the center, allowing movement to flow effortlessly. What was once a cramped dining space is now transformed into a generous, multifunctional area that the family can adapt to daily needs and gatherings. By unifying the size of the three bedrooms to ensure comfort, the designers thoughtfully freed up fragmented space and carefully repurposed it as an independent guest bathroom. This addition significantly enhances the family’s daily routines, enabling all three members to bathe and prepare simultaneously with ease. The result is not only a home that fully embodies the functions required for modern life but also a design that fulfills the studio’s belief: to endow each space with enduring value through thoughtful planning.
