Folded Lightscape: A Sanctuary of Subtraction

Designed for medical professionals facing high-pressure routines, Folded Lightscape re-examines the essence of domestic tranquility. The project adopts a "subtractive" philosophy, reconfiguring a fragmented 72 m² interior into a continuous, open-sequence environment that prioritizes emotional release and connection over traditional room counts.

The core concept revolves around spatial continuity. By consolidating the original three-bedroom layout into a single-bedroom plan, the design fosters an unfragmented flow between the living, workspace, and culinary zones. Instead of rigid walls, the design employs "interfaces"—curved geometries, sliding glass panels, and modular cabinetry—to define functional boundaries without obstructing sightlines.

Materiality plays a vital role in establishing this serene atmosphere. Seamless microcement flooring eliminates visual interruptions, while a consistent palette of artisanal matte textures and modular elements reinforces a sense of stability. The introduction of smart switchable glass between the study and bedroom allows the residence to adapt fluidly to the owners' rhythm, transitioning between expansive openness and secluded privacy. Folded Lightscape is not merely a renovation; it is a choreographed environment where light, shadow, and movement converge to create a lasting sanctuary for modern living.
