The interior is grounded in a palette of off-white and soft milk tea tones, accented by deep walnut wood textures featured on the entry shelving, TV console, and sideboard. Matte finishes are used throughout to diffuse harsh reflections and create a gentle, luminous atmosphere that feels calm and inviting.
Carefully take both tactile comfort and long-term durability into account to select every material. Fine wood-veneer cabinetry, matte lacquered surfaces, and walls finished with naturally textured mineral paint together create a refined yet understated material composition. Through the use of concealed detailing and continuous linear elements, subtly incorporated craftsmanship into the rhythms of everyday living.
Lighting is equally thoughtfully composed. Indirect light sources concealed within the curved ceiling softly define the architectural contours, while allowing the textures and tonal variations of the materials to emerge gradually as the light changes throughout the day.
Although the original layout featured a relatively regular floor plan, the space felt somewhat constrained in daily use. The entryway shoe storage lacked sufficient capacity, the entrance opened directly into the dining area, and the kitchen appeared visually cluttered due to the absence of dedicated appliance storage. Rather than pursuing major structural alterations, the design team focused on precise spatial refinements to improve both functionality and comfort.
Within the entryway, the designer set up a suspended storage cabinet and a lattice screen to increase storage capacity while adding visual layering and a greater sense of depth. In the kitchen, we carefully replan a small area of the adjacent study to create a dedicated appliance cabinet area, resulting in a cleaner, more efficient cooking environment with improved accessibility for daily use.
Designed the overall layout around the natural rhythms of movement within the home. Connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen through an open-plan arrangement that encourages fluid interaction and spatial continuity. Meanwhile, the lattice partition establishes a semi-open relationship between the entryway and public areas, preserving visual openness while subtly maintaining privacy and tranquility within the residence.
