About The Entry

Project Background

VR technology profoundly reshapes healthcare, industrial manufacturing, and film, yet most VR corporate websites remain confined to gaming, ignoring their broader application potential. Therefore, I conceptually redesigned the website of Varjo, a leading VR brand.

The Challenge

Varjo’s website suffered from a common industry pitfall: its traditional visual language failed to highlight the dimensional leap from standard 2D electronics to spatial computing. Consequently, users could not intuitively experience VR's true visual impact.

Design Strategy & Execution

Visual Reinvention & Brand Tension: I abandoned traditional grid layouts, seeking the optimal balance by merging 2D planes with 3D rendering. By intensifying the visual contrast between modules and boldly introducing asymmetrical layout structures, the page is endowed with striking visual tension. This not only breaks the monotony of reading but also maintains a high-end aesthetic, significantly elevating Varjo's brand premium.

Information De-noising & Data Visualization: Instead of overwhelming users with dense hardware specs, complex technologies such as eye-tracking and dual-screen resolution were visually translated through modular UI cards and contextual 3D animations, effectively lowering the cognitive barrier for visitors.

Immersive Scrollytelling: As the user scrolls, the precision hardware seamlessly deconstructs and reassembles on-screen. This dynamic interactive narrative allows the website itself to simulate the immersive experience of wearing a VR headset.

Social Impact & Ultimate Vision

This redesign elevates the Varjo XR from a mere technological tool into a crucial instrument leading humanity's leap from the 2D plane into a far grander 3D dimension.

The true significance of design lies in connecting technology with people. Through this optimized digital bridge, I hope to illuminate the vast application prospects of VR: in healthcare, it can "liberate" patients from oppressive hospital rooms, placing them into healing natural landscapes; in emotional documentation, it allows people to genuinely step back into their memories; in high-risk industrial environments, it empowers technicians to execute complex robotic operations remotely from the absolute safety of a cabin. VR is profoundly driving the evolution of human lifestyles and technological progress, and an exceptional website design experience serves as the exact catalyst accelerating the realization of this grand vision.
