Tulip in the room

Tulip n' Room is a New York-based label founded by designer Xinyu Zheng, where clothing functions as wearable storytelling. The collection draws from family photographs of the 1980s — not merely as visual reference, but as a point of entry. Objects and textures found in the background of those images were reimagined directly into garment form, translating personal memory into silhouette, material, and embellishment.

Every piece in the collection is constructed from deadstock and thrifted textiles — fabrics overlooked and left behind — restored through individual handcraft techniques including hand embroidery, crochet, beading, and hand-knitting. No two garments share the same material or method. The result is a collection rooted in sustainability and slow craft, where each piece carries both the spirit of a generation and the mark of the hands that made it.
