About The Entry

Spore-Fungi Drift is a critical interactive installation that examines how platform homogenization alienates human attention in the digital age. Through immersive visual and sensory experiences, the work reveals the subtle process by which we lose control over our own attention within uniform interface loops.

The installation invites physical engagement as a trigger mechanism. When a viewer invests their "attention" — by pressing a sensor — floating 3D fungal colonies twist and proliferate. This transformation mirrors how digital platforms extract and consume attention as a commodity. In parallel, an interactive mirror distorts the viewer's self-image, covering it with fragmented, flowing data. This visual decay symbolizes the alienation and blurring of digital identity under algorithmic shaping.

Neither a warning nor a lecture, Spore-Fungi Drift offers a poetic diagnosis of digital fatigue. It is a perceptual experiment designed to awaken self-awareness, inviting each of us to rediscover the shape and direction of our own attention in a world saturated with push notifications and endless content streams.
