Tonglu Hills Villa

This project is rooted in the core of Song Dynasty aesthetics, translating the literati’s philosophy of elegant dwelling into contemporary living spaces. The design adheres to the principles of abandoning complexity for simplicity and learning from nature. It employs restrained negative space as its skeleton and natural materials as its skin, utilizing low-saturation color palettes and crisp lines to construct a serene atmosphere where void and solid coexist, and light and shadow flow. Master florist Mr. Ling Zongyong from Taiwan was invited to create the floral artistry, allowing the arrangements to transcend mere decoration and become a poetic extension of the space, fully expressing the Eastern aura of less is more.

The spatial layout showcases the ingenious craftsmanship of Song aesthetics: the lobby captures the high distance essence of Song paintings, with soaring lines stretching like distant mountains. The negotiation area adopts a symmetrical layout to frame the views into paintings, exuding solemnity and grandeur. The water bar features a curved marble counter paired with Zen-inspired floral art, creating the elegant artistic conception of Zen and tea as one. The fitness space utilizes floor-to-ceiling glass to introduce the misty courtyard indoors, dissolving oppression; warm light grilles and mirrors infinitely extend the greenery, achieving harmony between people and scenery. The tearoom, Queen’s Space, and dining room each follow their own logic, either echoing the courtyard views or adhering to Chinese symmetry, turning dining and rest into dialogues with the landscape.

The overall space combines the warmth of wood, the softness of fabric, and the grace of flowers to create a sophisticated and healing atmosphere. Simultaneously meeting modern living needs, it creates an elegant sanctuary for residents to settle their body and mind amidst the bustling metropolis.
