The project’s most distinctive value lies not merely in making the space brighter and cleaner, but in creating value through behavior and interaction.
The redesign resolves the safety concerns caused by the original uneven stair levels while simultaneously improving openness and spatial flexibility. Teachers and students are now able to read, lecture, discuss, exhibit, and communicate within the same shared environment.
The overall design establishes a warm and approachable atmosphere through earth-toned palettes, natural materials, playful window graphics, and hand-painted typography. Beyond functional rationality, the space also incorporates layers of childhood perception and emotional interaction.
Once the window openings were expanded, visual connections between interior and exterior spaces began to flow more freely. Students on different floors can now see and communicate with one another through these openings, allowing everyday campus life to gain a new social gathering point.
At the rear of the space, a speech-bubble-inspired feature wall integrates writable whiteboard surfaces with magnetic display functions. It serves both as a teaching aid and a platform for showcasing student work, allowing information, imagination, and learning outcomes to naturally remain within the space.
