Nestled between two serene reservoirs in Hefei’s Luyang District, Xingying Tinghu redefines low-density urban living by weaving Eastern cultural heritage, natural rhythm, and contemporary design philosophy. Guided by the core concept of “Returning to Simplicity,” the design strips away excess ornamentation, allowing the raw beauty of materials, clean lines, and natural light to take center stage.

The journey begins at a grand entrance defined by a mountain-shaped eave, leading visitors through three successive courtyards. This carefully choreographed sequence allows for a gradual shift of mood, transitioning from the bustle of the city to a state of quiet contemplation within a measured, tranquil flow.

Upon entering the lobby, a scholarly tone is immediately established through the layout of a traditional Chinese study and the interplay of light and courtyard views. The entrance is elevated by an exclusive floral installation by AOF International floral artist Xu Yanya, paired with calligraphy that adds a layer of cultural depth. Moving into the foyer, specially crafted limestone flooring creates a sense of fluid motion underfoot, while mother-of-pearl inlay artwork—a nod to imperial craftsmanship—brings a touch of heritage into the everyday experience.

The reception hall balances Eastern symmetry with Western comfort, featuring high-end furniture by Christian Liaigre to evoke French elegance. A standout detail awaits at the entry to the VIP room: a handcrafted bamboo sculpture of the pomegranate flower (the city’s emblem), seamlessly merging regional identity with modern aesthetics.

Further along the path, the tea room offers an intimate and refined retreat, with layered spatial relationships accommodating tea tasting, conversation, and small gatherings alike. In the community library, bookshelves inspired by the layered rhythm of mountains feature varied heights, ensuring easy access for both children and adults. Additional functional spaces, including a workshop room and a multi-purpose room, further cater to the diverse lifestyle needs of residents.

Xingying Tinghu places people and lifestyles at its heart. By harmonizing cultural depth with modern comfort, the project creates an ideal living environment that perfectly answers the contemporary desire for both tranquility and refined luxury.
