The project transforms a riverside residential community into a three-dimensional, walkable, and livable island that balances urban vibrancy with tranquil natural spaces. Inspired by the organic patterns of natural islands, greenery extends from the ground to building rooftops and connecting corridors, creating immersive surrounding green spaces. Functional areas are conceived as “containers on the island,” seamlessly integrating social interaction, leisure, and nature. Key experiential scenes include starry tree islands, water courtyard terraces, floating water islands, art bridges, and layered water features, enriching both spatial variety and emotional engagement.
The design introduces a five-level progressive homecoming sequence—gate, corridor, courtyard, garden, and residence—elevating the return journey from a simple ceremonial experience to a continuous, immersive emotional transition. Two homecoming routes respond to diverse life rhythms and emotional needs: a hotel-style drop-off and a pocket park roaming experience, offering flexible circulation, visual discovery, and sensory engagement. Pocket parks are integrated with residential functions, forming a “three-dimensional ecological base,” while vertical composite spaces, suspended gardens, and sunken areas maximize spatial efficiency and create multi-layered ecological islands that enhance both privacy and exploration. Materials and detailing, including tiger jade, agarwood yellow stone, and Angola black stone, establish a calm, understated aesthetic that balances warmth with elegance.
Sustainability and ecological continuity are central to the design. Native plant species form multi-layered, low-maintenance communities, promoting biodiversity, supporting pollinators, and reducing irrigation needs. Rainwater circulation systems, sunken green spaces, and sponge city principles efficiently collect, purify, and reuse runoff, while minimizing municipal drainage load. Green permeability links the community to adjacent parks, creating a coherent ecological corridor and enhancing habitat connectivity. Layered planting, water features, and carefully sited vegetation foster interaction between internal and external landscapes, ensuring a harmonious balance of urban living and restorative nature. Overall, the design delivers a rich, multidimensional spatial experience, a strong sense of homecoming, and a sustainable, ecologically sensitive residential environment.
