This stage design anchors Masiwei's arena-scale tour to the core theme of Dark Horse Season, tracing his artistic evolution from a solo trailblazer to leading a collective movement, and from underground circles to full-capacity arenas. It blends installation art, dynamic light and shadow, and spatial sculpting to forge a brand-new visual language and artistic depth for hip-hop performances.
The scenic design centers on a monumental sculptural horse-head installation, echoing the recurring equine motif throughout the artist's body of work. Combining static installations with retractable LED screens, the stage creates multi-dimensional spatial layering that breaks free from conventional stage screen setups, delivering dramatic theatrical texture and immersive tension for the live experience. Retractable LED screens deliver breathtaking visuals via high-precision digital content from multiple perspectives, inviting audiences to reconnect with the authentic roots of hip-hop and explore profound artistic values beyond mere entertainment.
The concert features fully reimagined arrangements across its entire setlist; while preserving the original production samples and authentic core hip-hop styles such as Trap and Boombap, it incorporates intricate chord progressions, a live band, and a brass section, infusing the performance with genuine artistic character and elevating the arena-tailored acoustic experience.
This stage design brings together a world-class international creative team. Drawing on borderless musical insight and emotional resonance with the work, it not only translates Masiwei's decade-long musical journey into an immersive audio-visual spectacle, but also pioneers a unique path distinct from conventional mainstream shows and similar hip-hop shows, continuously shaping the future of live Mandarin rap performances.
