A Coastal Haven: A Soulful Family Home

Nestled in a village along the picturesque Hampshire coast, SLC Interior Design embarked on a year-long journey, crafting a soulful family home from breaking ground to handing over the keys. With a dislike of the developer's standard interior finishes, the clients longed for a dwelling with soul. We were involved in every aspect, ensuring that every finish and element resonated with the agreed concept.



The property comprises of a spacious hallway, cloakroom, games room, a functional home office, a formal living room, pantry, boot room, utility room and an open-plan kitchen/living/dining area that forms the heart of the home. The original architect’s plans were adjusted to accommodate the briefs requirements and to enhance practicality and add personality with bespoke joinery being integrated throughout.



Our design concept focused on creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere influenced by the site’s surroundings and the clients brief. Soft, soothing muted tones welcome you at the entrance, complemented by subtle brass floor details. The kitchen features warm blue cabinets and a waterfall quartz island, marrying aesthetics with functionality. Muted tones, pops of colour and natural finishes are echoed throughout the property balancing each room and mirroring the family's energy and spirit.



Personal sanctuaries are awaited in the five bedrooms, each equipped with an en-suite and four with dressing rooms. The boys' rooms radiate vibrancy and playfulness, including a den and a slide, which nurture creativity. In contrast, the master suite exudes tranquillity and calm, ideal for relaxation after a busy day and boasts its own fully equipped ‘morning kitchen’.



Standout features are the formal living room joinery, which beautifully balances a non-central fireplace and the adaptable games room that caters to the family's current needs whilst maintaining future resale potential as a formal dining room.



In this coastal Hampshire haven, SLC Interior Design created a warm and inviting home. Every element, from the welcoming entrance to the personalised bedrooms, was carefully curated to encapsulate the essence of family, warmth, and practicality, without compromising adult sophistication.
