To promote the tourism industry and resources of Hualien, energize its attractions, and enhance economic benefits, the event of 2024 centered around the "Hualien Mountains and Waters Travel." The festival revitalized tourism opportunities and spurred industry development, allowing all visitors to experience Hualien's unique holiday delights.

The event focused on family-friendly themes, meticulously crafting a variety of programs. These included Taiwan's largest water-based theater dance drama, which combined aqua dancing, water curtains, and laser lighting to create a fantastical visual feast; the internationally renowned "Diabolo Dance Theatre – Light of Life," which for the first time incorporated water performances blending Eastern craftsmanship with Western art; and a drone show featuring 300 drones that integrated the natural beauty of Hualien with the image of the Muscovy Duck.

-The largest water screen projection in Taiwan: The water theater in Hualien showcased a unique technology-driven audiovisual performance with the largest water screen projection in Taiwan. This display perfectly integrated local culture, history, and geographic features, making it a must-see visual feast across Taiwan. Large-scale installation art featured the tribal guardian owl, the county bird Maroon Oriole, and the tourism ambassador Muscovy Duck, symbolizing Hualien's diverse culture and natural beauty.

-The charm of the Muscovy Duck: The giant water-based installation arts featuring the Muscovy Duck and Maroon Oriole was another highlight of the event. Standing 15 meters tall and 12 meters wide, these adorable mascots of Hualien were vividly presented. These giant artworks were not only soft and smooth, but the lively details with heart-shaped wings added a touch of whimsy and approachability. Particularly, the large eyes of the Muscovy Duck conveyed a friendly and charming image, instantly captivating hearts. Set against a water backdrop, these installations served not only as Hualien’s ambassadors but also became a popular spot for tourists to take photos and post on social media.
