Leaving dogs in cars can pose risks, such as heatstroke or well-meaning passersby calling the police. Dog Mode addresses these issues by combining safety, comfort, and emotional connection between pets and their owners.

The feature ensures dogs remain safe with climate control, keeping the car at a comfortable temperature.

A pedestrian notice on the car’s display informs bystanders that the dog is safe, alleviating concern. For added peace of mind, the driver can monitor their pet remotely through a dog monitor and video chat feature via their smartphone.

To enhance the emotional bond, Dog Mode includes personalized touches like a dog profile and memory features, where the car stores the dog’s name and preferences. These playful interactions foster a stronger connection between the pet, the driver, and the vehicle, turning the feature into more than just a safety tool.

Minimizing driver distraction is key to ensuring safety on the road. The interface balances readability with aesthetics using contrast to deliver clear information quickly. Accessibility features, including dark and light modes, adapt to different lighting conditions, while consistent UI across platforms ensures quick decision-making and minimizes distraction.

This design was well-received, earning a 120% grade, positive feedback from GM judges, and a LinkedIn shoutout from GM that garnered over 23,860 impressions. The project successfully enhances both the pet's safety and the driver's user experience.
