About The Entry

The project "When the Sea Returns - This Family" is inspired by the special scenery along the coast of southwestern Taiwan, which depicts the resilience of coastal residents in the face of changing times. The design team took the traditional salt-worker family that lives by the sea as the theme, with each unit representing the character and doubts of the family members, and combining local literature and settlement elements to express the four roles and explore life's burdens and freedoms. Nowadays, people are still searching for the possibility of survival in society. The core of the project aims to revitalize Taiwanese grassroots literature, improve the community environment, and provide space for rest and play. The entire project took one year to complete and fully demonstrates the care for the development of history, culture, and community environment in the southwest coastal area of Taiwan.
