This project is located on the 13th floor of Building 2 within the Shanghai Headquarters Office Park, covering an area of approximately 1,600 square metres. The main functional areas include office spaces, reception, meeting rooms, restaurant, leisure areas, and a courtyard.
The overall decoration style of the project is "Light Chinese Style," which incorporates Chinese elements in the design while simplifying and innovating upon traditional Chinese architecture. The five key features of Chinese architecture are preserved: 1. Eaves tiles, 2. Dougong (interlocking wooden brackets), 3. Lan-tou (roof ridge decorations), 4. Column shafts, and 5. Column bases. Myanmar teak color is used as the base colour, with Myanmar teak serving as the primary material. This material combines stability, durability, and aesthetic appeal, and it also has a distinctive fragrance that positively affects human nervous system.
The design concept is based on Yingzao Fashi (The Treatise on Architectural Methods), written by Li Jie during the Northern Song Dynasty. It draws specifically from the first illustration in the treatise, known as the "Circle-Square Diagram" (Yuan Fang Fang Yuan Picture). This illustration repeatedly emphasises the importance of using the proportions of the circle and square, a principle established by ancient master craftsmen. The proportion 1:√2 (equivalent to 141:100), which is also the standard ratio used in modern paper sizes, is applied to the courtyard design, reflecting the modular design characteristic of ancient Chinese architecture. Through the use of Yingzao Fashi, the essence of traditional Chinese culture is preserved while also integrating modern aesthetics and functionality, creating a unique style.
