In today’s fast-paced world, people are constantly overwhelmed by the flood of digital information and distractions, leading to a loss

of focus and mental clarity. This home is designed for Sol and Astra, a couple living in California, US, whose differing daily rhythms

highlight the need for balance and rejuvenation. It provides them a sanctuary to escape the noise and recharge their minds. By reinterpreting the flow of time through the changing light and shadows, fostering awareness and connection to the passage of time, to

the past, present, and future. The design aims to create a space that integrates thoughts, memories, and dreams, promoting a deeper

connection to self and each other.

Formed by the interplay of light and shadow, this home is a space for the drifted mindscape that encourages daydreaming and mental refreshment. It is designed to give the couple a mental vacation—a place to shift their focus, wander their minds, and engage in

introspection and creativity. The spaces within the home are intended for relaxation, self-reflection, and exploring ideas, offering an

environment that promotes self-discovery.

Without utilizing any artificial light, the design captures the natural drift of light and time, letting the changing light flow through the space, creating an environment

where time becomes fluid and the mind is free to wander. This home is designed to be calm, intimate, and relaxing, yet simultaneously

stimulating and inspiring. It embraces openness, playfulness, and creative exploration, with elements that spark curiosity and wonder.

By catering to the different living rhythms of Sol and Astra, the space allows both privacy and shared moments of connection. Through

dynamic elements such as the shifting light patterns and the integration of nature, this design creates an environment where the

mind can drift, daydream, and find clarity.
