Nestled in the serene outskirts of Bogotá, just 1.5 hours away in the tranquil town of Zipaquirá, this hospice is more than just a place of care—it’s a sanctuary where life, nature, and loved ones converge in harmony. Designed with the unique vision of fostering connection and tranquility during the most challenging times, this hospice offers a transformative experience for patients and their families.

Central to the design is the integration of nature through farming, a practice deeply rooted in the way of life for many in Bogotá’s savannah. This hospice pays tribute to that tradition, allowing families to engage in agricultural activities that provide both purpose and solace. The act of cultivating the land serves as a therapeutic outlet, proven to reduce anxiety and stress, offering comfort and a sense of accomplishment. The produce from these farms not only nourishes the body but also the soul, leaving families with a lasting connection to their loved ones even after they’ve passed.

The architectural layout is thoughtfully crafted to ensure accessibility and ease. With no stairs and fully wheelchair-friendly paths, the hospice embodies a philosophy of unhurried, gentle living. Here, there is no rush—only the serene rhythm of nature and the warm embrace of family. Every aspect of the design is intended to create a space where time slows down, allowing for deep connection and reflection.

A standout feature is the accessible roof garden, which allows individuals in wheelchairs to engage in gardening comfortably without ever needing to leave their chairs.

In this hospice, the final moments are not just about saying goodbye but about finding peace and creating lasting memories in a setting that honors life’s beauty and dignity. The design invites families to slow down, fully engage with their loved ones, and embrace the present in a tranquil, natural environment. It’s a place where life is celebrated even in its final stages, offering space for reflection, connection, and comfort.
