Ebb and Flow is a luxury residential project that captures the poetic interplay between Kaohsiung’s coastal serenity and metropolitan energy. Located along the edge of Kaohsiung Harbor, the residence is surrounded by five signature landscapes—mountains, sea, rivers, harbor, and skyline—offering panoramic views where nature and city converge in elegant harmony.

The design draws inspiration from the rhythmic movement of tides and the reflective beauty of water. This concept is translated into a flowing spatial narrative shaped by organic curves, soft transitions, and layered materials. Light interacts with textures throughout the interior, creating a sense of depth, warmth, and subtle motion.

Reflective surfaces and sculptural forms are intentionally placed to echo the visual rhythm of the sea. Select furnishings feature glossy finishes and are positioned at precise angles to catch natural light, casting shimmering reflections onto the ceiling—mimicking the sparkle of ocean ripples and forming a dialogue with the seascape visible just beyond the balcony.

Materiality plays a central role: from leather and alabaster-hued finishes to titanium-plated accents, each element is selected to embody both calm and sophistication. The master bedroom and living room feature walls are crafted with layered plaster techniques and hand-polished to achieve a seamless matte surface. In the dining area, bespoke paneling and recessed indirect lighting elevate the ambience with quiet elegance.

A key challenge in this project was the technical execution of fluid spatial forms within a high-rise setting. To achieve structural precision, the team employed 3D scanning, digital modeling, and collaborated closely with artisans for on-site fabric application, custom prototyping, and detail integration.

Ebb and Flow is a study in how design can translate the intangible—movement, light, and emotion—into a tactile, livable experience. More than a home, it is an immersive composition of architecture, art, and atmosphere that redefines contemporary luxury through a deeply contextual lens.
