Centered around the concepts of SLOW living and LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability), Glass in Adagio invites visitors to rediscover the beauty of everyday life through the interplay of light and shadow in glass art.

Hsinchu City has gained international recognition for its economic and technological advancements, particularly in the semiconductor industry. Yet, amidst this rapid progress, the city’s pace of life remains fast and demanding.

Affectionately known as the “City of Glass” in Taiwan, Hsinchu is steeped in cultural memory and artistic heritage. This exhibition weaves together art and daily life to craft a living environment rich in humanistic depth. Through the gentle, expressive power of glass, it encourages visitors to reflect on the rhythms of modern life and to rediscover the subtle beauty within the everyday.

Inspired by the Italian phrase Dolce far niente—"the sweetness of doing nothing"—the exhibition celebrates leisurely, unhurried moments. By harnessing the transparent and ever-changing qualities of glass, it creates a poetic dialogue between time and nature. These varied expressions invite visitors to re-examine their daily experiences through a softened, more mindful lens.

The exhibition unfolds across two themed galleries: “Traces of Light and Shadow” and “Earth’s Gentle Song.” These spaces are seamlessly connected by a transitional corridor titled “Switch of Inner Mood,” a symbolic passage that gently reminds us that shifting life’s tempo is a conscious and graceful choice.

In “Traces of Light and Shadow,” glass installations such as “Forest of Memories,” “Rainbow Forest,” and “Spirits of the Night” evoke a dreamlike woodland illuminated by shifting light. These works invite viewers to savor those fleeting, magical moments in life—memories and daily sensations that are often overlooked.

“Earth’s Gentle Song” explores the poetic harmony between glass art and the natural world. Pieces like “Melody of Rain” and “Persistence in the Rain” delicately capture the quiet elegance of falling rain. “Glimmer in the Rain” conjures the peaceful feeling of wandering through a misty landscape, while “Mirror of Nature” reflects elements such as wind, water, and fog through the refractive beauty of glass—creating an experience that is both refreshing and soul-soothing.
