In an era dominated by materialism, the threads that once connected humanity to nature and the spiritual realm have gradually frayed, leaving behind a profound void. From this emptiness emerges a deep yearning for something beyond the tangible: faith and emotional solace. The “Three Feet Above” collection transcends conventional fashion; it is wearable art that explores existential themes through jewelry. Inspired by the traditional mourning jewelry, this collection maintains a cohesive visual design—one that combines bone-like structures with organic silhouettes to provoke reflection on the finiteness of life. At its philosophical core lies the timeless truth: “Remember you must die.” Yet rather than succumb to mortality’s shadow, the collection transforms this awareness into a call to cherish the present, seeking to revive the dialogue between the individual and the spiritual realm in contemporary life.

This collection draws inspiration from shamanic ritual objects. Shamans, as intermediaries between worlds in indigenous Chinese spiritual traditions, wield sacred implements that represent the bridges between humans and nature, life and death. Echoing this symbolism, this design incorporates asymmetrical organic shapes, rough skeletal structures, and hollow forms to suggest the fragility and unpredictability of life while imbuing each piece with ritual significance and spirituality. Sound plays a pivotal interactive role in this collection: small steel beads within silver chambers tinkle as the wearer moves, offering an auditory reminder of time’s passage. The sound harmonizes with visual elements to stimulate emotional resonance across multiple senses.

Material and craftsmanship further deepen the narrative. Through meticulous processes including fire-scale removal and acid pickling, aging, and oxidation, the sterling silver presents a rich gradient from icy silver-white to deep grayish brown. This effect mimics the natural process of aging and evokes the accumulation of emotion over time. Meanwhile, the deliberately preserved handcrafting marks on surfaces echo the true, imperfect state of life. Through the interplay of its material, form, and sound, the “Three Feet Above” collection transcends the traditional function of adornment. It becomes an artistic symbol that provokes and carries reflections on time, death, and eternity, guiding the wearer toward inner balance in the increasingly materialistic world.
