Ningbo Xiangshan Colorful Coast Art Center

The project is located in Huangbi'ao Township, Xiangshan, Ningbo, and serves as a shining pearl among coastal tourism projects. It is transformed from a three-story building. The design inspiration for the project originates from the waves crashing against the rocks and the ancient fleets of merchant ships. The building employs a cast-in-place concrete structure, which not on-ly conveys the strength of the rocks but also complements the sculptural feel of the art center. In terms of spatial planning, a cast-in-place corridor connects the entrance to the art center, reminiscent of the traditional Chi-nese Suzhou-style garden corridors. At each turn, different styles of windows are used to frame the external scenery. The design approach employs a tech-nique of first suppressing and then highlighting the views.
