La Gloire

The Akasaka Tameike Tower Annex is a stand-alone building surrounded by greenery in Tokyo, Japan. Behind its sheer curtains, which have gauze hanging from the large glass windows, you can experience the elegant atmosphere of the French restaurant La Gloire.

Enter through the large glass doors and walk down the elegant, glittering hallway. Love poems dance on the mirrors and black and white photographs of chandeliers, ribbed glass and brass pendant lights greet guests.

The cozy 16-seat main dining room is a space that blends classic and modern, expressing the luxury of the Château de Versailles in France from a modern perspective, with a base color scheme of white and gray, and features such elements as the fine white stucco on the walls, the 3D coffered ceiling, the tin-plated charms on the console, the gray marble, and the black and white herringbone pattern of the floor tiles. Black and white photographs of the Château de Versailles, taken by Yasumichi Morita himself, surround the elegant and high-quality room.

The oak walls add a warm touch to the space, and the semi-private seating for four at the solid wood counter overlooking the stainless steel vibration-based kitchen is a special seat.

Decorated in the same sophisticated tones as the seating area, the restroom is a cozy space bathed in the warm light that filters through the mirrored silver logo.

Classic French beauty is re-interpreted for the modern age.
