CayKnight.AI: Smart Care for Dogs

CayKnight.AI is an AI-powered dog healthcare system combining a smart collar and mobile app to help owners understand their dogs’ health and act instantly when issues arise.



Dogs can’t speak for themselves, leaving owners uncertain and often missing the best time for care. Research shows that delayed treatment in conditions like spinal injury, intestinal blockage, or GDV can lead to severe outcomes such as infection or death. Through 30 interviews and 107 surveys, we found that most owners rely solely on observation to detect problems, and 77% wish they could better understand their dogs’ health.



To address this gap, CayKnight.AI was designed to reduce uncertainty and enable instant, data-driven action. The app receives real-time data from the smart collar and transforms it into clear, actionable insights:



- Health Monitor Dashboard: Tracks vital signs in real time and flags abnormal readings, helping owners spot potential issues early. AI-generated insights evaluate the dog’s condition and alert users when immediate action is needed.



- Health Report: Provides daily, monthly, and yearly summaries covering heart health, activity, endurance, and temperature regulation. Each category is scored and paired with AI-powered recommendations, giving owners a comprehensive view of their dog’s overall well-being.



- AI Diagnosis: Guides users through selecting a symptom category, uploading images, and describing issues in natural language. The system then delivers likely diagnoses and treatment suggestions, helping owners make quick, informed decisions.



The smart collar extends the app’s capability by collecting physiological data, tracking location, and offering practical features like LED lighting for night walks and vibration-based training mode to correct unwanted behaviors.



Together, the collar and app form an intelligent ecosystem that empowers owners to care for their dogs with confidence—transforming instinct-based observation into proactive, AI-assisted health management.
