As skyscrapers rise and the rhythm of urban life accelerates, the private dining floor on the sixth level of Tailong Bank is conceived as a quiet sanctuary where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover a sense of inner balance. Through a careful orchestration of light and shadow, material textures, and spatial sequencing, the design creates a gentle dialogue between nature and contemporary architecture.

The journey begins in a public area that resembles a forest suspended above the city. A wooden lattice ceiling filters daylight like leaves in a woodland canopy, casting shifting patterns across fair-faced concrete walls. Transparent glass screens ripple like still water, blurring the boundary between reality and reflection. Natural stone displays, black gravel flooring, and subtle patches of green moss together compose a calm, landscape-inspired scene that soothes the senses and invites quiet contemplation.

Passing through this “forest path,” one arrives at a lounge that mediates between public openness and private intimacy. Softly contoured wooden furniture, a wall of bookshelves, and warm lighting establish a welcoming atmosphere for conversation and reflection. The crescent-shaped seating arrangement and sculptural tea table encourage calm gatherings, where light and shadow remain understated, lingering gently in the background.

The private dining rooms form the emotional core of the project. Organized around round tables symbolizing harmony and reunion, these spaces are wrapped in softly textured walls that recall the subtle traces of ink-wash paintings. Moonlight-like illumination, restrained black-and-white furnishings, and abstract artworks create a refined yet warm setting where dining becomes an immersive, almost poetic experience.

Outside, a rooftop terrace offers a final moment of release. Here, greenery, wooden seating, and softly glowing light strips weave nature into the urban skyline, forming a quiet retreat amid the city’s density.

Rather than seeking visual spectacle, the design employs subtle Eastern sensibilities and contemporary language to create a place for conversation, contemplation, and emotional repose—a poetic sanctuary suspended above the city.
